I was born May 11, 2006 to Krystal Zipper and One Hot Krymsun on Walt and Patty Downer's farm in New Jersey. That's right, I am technically a Yankee but I got South as soon as I could! During this time, several people came to the farm just to photograph me (well maybe some of the other babies too...). Jaime Foutty was one of these people, sent by Becky Bailey to get sale fotos of myself and two other jetlets that were at the Downers'. Even though I was for sale at the time, Jaime did not seem interested at the time. I am not sure my charms did not work in the beginning.
After weaning, Becky Bailey brought me home to Bailey Farm in Batavia, OH. I was surrounded by other jetlets there spent the winter growing and learning good stuff like leading and tying.
In May of 2007, Jaime Foutty came to Bailey Farm for her annual baby jetlet fotography visit. Several people were interested in me at this time and it was imperative that good fotos be taken of me (as well as the other yearlings) on this visit. To my surprise, only a week after Jaime left, she returned with a trailer to bring me South! I was very excited to go home with her. I call her my mommy now.
After arriving in NC I began my longeline training. Although we were short on time, there was hope of getting me ready for Tom Powers. I was almost ready for Michigan but not quite, so they decided to go to the Southern Belle. Then the farrier's knife slipped and cut my sole near my toe pretty badly and I was out of commission for over a month.
After that they decided to save me for the maiden color LL class at Just For Pleasure. This turned out to be a big mistake as we were told there were 17 in it and there were only 4. In addition I strained my stifle the day we got to GA and was not on my best game during the entire show. I had missed all the fall futurities for nothing!
My mommy was very sad as she likes LL very much and I was a quite fancy yearling. But now I have had lots of training to be a western pleasure and all around horse. I am pretty sure I am awesome! My mommy is showing me some herself this year but I've also been put in foal to Potential Investment so I am a working mom!
