7.19.10 I am pregnant! My mommy is very excited. She has been working pretty hard to make this happen. Personally I didn't really care but I've since found out that it probably means an extended vacation for not much effort on my part so now I'm thinking it's a pretty good deal.
7.12.10 I found out the cloverleaf pattern involves running. Not so sure it sounds fun anymore. I don't like running.
7.10.10 We went to the CCWHA show today. I was dressed up so pretty! I love it when people stop us to tell me how pretty I am.
7.7.10 Tonight I got new shoes and then we went over to the saddle club to ride. My mom thought it would be cute to show me a cloverleaf barrel pattern. I'm all for anything involving clover! Then I found out there was no actual eating on my part involved. After my initial disappointment, I realized that trotting around that pattern was not hard and even somewhat entertaining, at least compared to normal circles and railwork. I'm pretty sure I could be good at it! My mom's friend Jackie said I wasn't really any competition in the barrels which offended me greatly. I'm sure I COULD be good if I wanted to!!
7.4.10 Today I provided the mane as my mommy tried to teach herself to braid. It was a good trade...I managed a few horse cookies in the deal and just had to stand there and sleep most of the time. There were many crooked ones and she kept redoing stuff which was irritating to me but since I have a superior mane and am a great model, I think it looked ok for her first time in the end.
7.2.10 I've seen how handsome my man is and just had to share this picture from his own website!! I'm sure I'm his favorite wife of the whole year, too, and he would have LOVED to have met me in person! (Who wouldn't right??)
6.30.10 Today I have just ovulated at my recheck and received the second insemination. This is my last chance to become pregnant this year...my mommy is already worried about how young the foal will be at futurity time but she wants me to return to showing as soon as possible so she decided not to wait until 2011 to try. The vet says everything is textbook, so now all we can do is wait and see! Recheck scheduled for July 19.
6.29.10 Well finally we are ready to breed! Today I have a 47 follicle with soft edges and the semen that was collected and shipped to us yesterday (arriving today) looks great, at upwards of 75%! My doctor and my mommy are very hopeful!
5.29.10 Well after lots of decision making and poring over the choices and waiting for contracts and return calls from stallion owners who evidently have better things to do than discuss the awesome opportunity to breed ME, the decision was made in favor of Potential Investment. My daddy Jody thinks he is awesome. I've heard that he is a handsome older man but of course nobody bothered to show me a picture or ask for my input.
4.12.10 I just heard that my mommy is possibly shopping a husband for me. Hmmm, not sure what to think about that. I know I make something like ButterKup though and she seems to be drumming up quite a stir!
3.30.10 Today my neice Princess ButterKup was born! I must say she is quite the little stunner! Her daddy is my full brother, Scenic Rio Krymsun, and her mama is the boss mare around these parts...the one they call Parlay. ButterKup is gorgeous...that must come from my side of the family!
3.28.10 Well it was off for a little training but now I'm back home again. It wasn't REAL training, just a little work. I think they were testing me or something...wondering if being brought home and put back in this pasture means I passed or failed??
3.2.10 I got new shoes today! The mud sucked off the old ones a long time ago. Interestingly enough, I was allowed to stay in the barn last night for the first time in a while! Must be for shoe protection. Wonder if I can work these new kicks to my advantage??
2.15.10 Hey my mom has a blog for her stuff too. If anyone is interested she sometimes writes about ME!! But there's also this really neat little article about How to Photograph Foals that she wrote last spring that some people may be interested in this time of year.
2.1.10 Sorry for the delay since my last post. We are currently underneath snow and since I've evidently been banished from my stall, website updating is a little tough. I am very much ready for training again. I do not like living outside. The older mares are mean to me and my little sisters stay away from me (which is a good idea since I'm obviously above their place anyhow).
1.10.10 Hmm, since I got this new coat, I have not been back in my stall. Vacation time isn't supposed to be OUTDOORS is it?? Nobody said this was a camping trip...
1.7.10 I got a new coat! It's purple and I must say, I love lovely in it!
1.2.10 A new year and I get a vacation! I'm lovin' it...although I like D. John very much I've been in training for a LONG time and I'm looking forward to some R&R!
11.21.09 Wow more Kongrats are due to my siblings at the AQHA World Championship show! Many of my brothers and sisters did well, but the highlights were Cool Krymsun Lady winning the Junior Western Pleasure and The Krymsun Kruzer winning the Superhorse award!
11.10.09 Kongratulations to my big brother The Krymsun Kruzer on being the All Around Horse at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Official word just came down the pipes today!
11.2.09 Wishing good luck to all my siblings competing at the AQHA and APHA World Championship Shows starting next week!
10.31.09 Happy Halloween!
10.29.09 Kongratulations to all my Krymsun siblings that did so well at Congress!
10.26.09 Not much going on here at home. I am still learning how to be a pleasure horse. I get showmanship lessons too but I've been trying to impress upon D. John that they BORE me. He doesn't seem to care....
10.17.09 I got dressed for Halloween!
10.16.09 Whew, a much needed break! Due to bad weather and the lack of 3YO money classes, my mommy decided against going to Arden for the Carolina Paint Horse Club Futurity. All my buds here at D. John's loaded up on his big black trailer and went up the mountain! I stayed home for some napping. I'll be ready for work when they get back.
10.4.09 Today I won a saddle at the Palmetto Paint Horse Club Futurity! I am really excited about that! My picture should be up on my shows page if you want to see it!
10.1.09 Today I am lucky to have with me Invest With A Chex aka "Peanut" who is shown by Brittany Blankenship in Amateur and Non-Pro Maturity WP events under the guidance of Steve Reams. "Peanut" is by Zippo Pine Chex and out of the Grefsrud family's proven producing mare, Beas Invest In Shy. He has won over $40K in prize money to date and has captured several major futurity championships and reserve championships at many shows including: The Reichert Celebration, NSBA World Breeders Championship Futurity, The Tom Powers Futurity, and A Little Futurity. Additionally, "Peanut" is a Congress Top Five and Top Ten placer, the 2009 Region 10 Regional Experience Amateur WP Champion, and is qualified for the 2009 AQHA World Show in Amateur WP.
Q: Do you get nervous when you show?
A:
I never get nervous, but sometimes I get extra excited if I'm feeling a little fresh. I really like to show off, so when it's show time I'm happy because I know everyone will be looking at me!
Q: What is your favorite win?
A:
It was pretty cool placing at the Congress as a 2 y.o. with Brittany my first time there, but I had a lot of fun last year there in Steve's class (the Ltd. Open 3 y.o. Derby). We were top five and even won on one of the judge's cards. I tried super hard for Steve that day and I think I made everyone really proud!
Q: Do you like it better when Brittany or Steve rides you?
A:
I like them both, but sometimes it is more fun when Brittany rides me because I enjoy surprising her and pushing her buttons every now and then if you know what I mean!
Q: What advice do you have for an aspiring WP star like myself?
A:
My advice is to try your hardest and don't give up. Our owners and trainers know we can't be perfect all the time, but when we step up to the plate at those important shows and try to give them 110% of our heart and talent they sure do appreciate it. You're going to make mistakes here and there or struggle with some things, but it's all part of the learning process and growing up as a pleasure horse!
